Furnishing

Furnishing and household linen activities (extended to the interior design sector) hold an important place in Lyon, with several companies specialized in furnishing fabrics (Soieries Prelle, Mathelin, etc.).

In this sector, Lyon benefits from the influence of the Rhône-Alpes region, and its numerous resources in the fields of furnishing (with leading brands and innovative designers), and of furnishing and decorating fabrics.

The Aramis project

In addition, the Rhône-Alpes region is strongly motivated to promote design and creation in the furnishing sector. Thus, the Aramis (Ameublement Rhône-Alpes Maîtrise des Innovations – Rhône-Alpes furnishing, innovation control) project, completed at the start of 2002, which encouraged the establishment of partnerships between regional brands and Rhône-Alpes designers, highlighting the region as a major research center in the field of furniture.
