The Confluence
To the South, The Confluence will be home to a 3-star hotel under a highly original roof
The heritage and history of the Confluence area at the southern tip of the Presqu’île peninsula makes it a natural and logical extension of Lyon’s historic city centre. This extension project is certainly a large-scale affair, as the total development area spans over a million square metres. As a result, the city centre will practically double in size.
New leisure and shopping area
At the heart of the development, a new leisure and shopping area is set to revolutionise life in the centre of Lyon. Characterised by its inflatable, transparent roof, this new development will be home to:
 | a UGC multiplex cinema,

| shops, leisure facilities and also
|
| a 150-room, 3-star hotel. |
Work on the project began in autumn 2007, and completion is due in lately 2010.

Carré de Soie
To the east, the Carré de Soie and its hotel are seeking investors
The forthcoming Carré de Soie leisure and retail park is targeted at a family market. Developed by operator Altaréa, the project offers a 60,000 sqm retail complex focused on products and services associated with culture, gardening, sports and leisure.
Similarly, a new racecourse will be opening alongside this development to host a range of educational and leisure activities (pony club, skate space, events complex), the management of which will be entrusted to the UCPA (French Union of Outdoor Sports Centres).
Finally, the nearby development of a new aquatic discovery centre will complement the range of activities offered by the leisure and retail park.
Call for architects
To make the site more attractive to businessmen and women visiting the major companies it will be home to, and to extend the range of hotels available in the vicinity of Eurexpo and Lyon-Saint Exupéry Airport, promoter Bouwfonds Marignan Immobilier is looking to:

| with a total, divisible net surface area of around 12,000 sqm,

| due for completion in 2011. |
A call for architects will be launched in September 2008 by Bouwfonds Marignan.
