The cité internationale in Lyon

All you need from a town in one neighbourhood

The Cité Internationale in Lyon France Europe

The Cité Internationale is located between Tête d’Or Park and Quai Charles de Gaulle on the banks of the Rhône. Located at the gateway to the city centre, it benefits from quick and easy access to the northern ring road, and is only five minutes from a motorway network with links to the whole of Europe.

The striking contours and internal geometry of the Cité Internationale were designed by architect Renzo Piano and landscaper Michel Corajoud, and have completely transformed the site formerly occupied by the Foire de Lyon exhibition centre. The architectural impact of the site and its privileged location in a high-quality natural setting make it one of the most desirable business sites on offer in the Lyon area.

The perfect location for meetings and exchanges

As the home of 900 residents and the workplace of 4,000 employees in around 60 different companies, the Cité Internationale is also a site rich in culture and communications: each year, almost 100,000 people visit the Musée d’Art Contemporain (Museum of Modern Art) or attend major events in the 3,000-seat Amphitheatre.

The Centre des Congrès (Convention Centre) welcomes 600,000 visitors and conference delegates each year. With the Tête d’Or Park right on its doorstep, as well as a 10-screen UGC cinema and Casino, the Cité Internationale also forms a major leisure destination for 1.5 million Lyon residents.

Exceptional accommodation facilities

The Cité Internationale and its immediate surroundings offer a total of 1,000 bed spaces:

The Lyon Hilton: 4-star hotel with 201 rooms (including 13 suites) with unrestricted views over the Rhône to one side and the Tête d’Or Park to the other. The hotel also houses a casino and 2 high-quality restaurants;
Hôtel de la Cité, a Concorde 4-star hotel: 169 rooms (Louvre Hôtels) with a restaurant;
Temporim apartment hotel (run by the Alliade group): 104 apartments, all 3-star.

In addition, the Saint-Clair district opposite the Cité Internationale is home to the Hôtel Etap (60 rooms) and the Hôtel Ibis (124 rooms); a selection of high quality hotels can also be found in the 6th arrondissement (city district) of Lyon.

A service centre that attracts the biggest companies

The Cité Internationale is home to 8 office buildings covering almost 8 levels and 60,000 sqm of floor space. They are characterised by their intelligent, functional design (office spaces can be adapted as required) and also by the optimum working environment they offer: the Cité Internationale buildings have been designed to reduce energy consumption by 20%.
