The XVI^e symposium Vibrations, shocks & noice will be held in the Ecole Centrale of Lyon (France) from June 10^th to 12^th 2008.

This event is organized by Supméca, an autonomous State Institution of Training and Research in Mechanical Engineering, placed under the Ministry of Education.

Aims and scopes

Aims and scopes of this symposium are:

	to review and discuss theoretical and experimental recent advances in systems and structural dynamics
	to facilitate interaction between mechanical researchers, in industrial and academic fields

Intent

The intent of this symposium is to highlight recent achievements in noise, shocks and vibrations.

The exchange of technical and scientific knowledge between engineers and researchers working in civil and military applications will:

	advance the state of the art
	give directions to future work
