Lyon, second largest stock of tertiary-sector premises in France

Lyon, home to the second highest concentration of decision-making centres and the second largest stock of tertiary-sector premises in France (after Paris), offers almost 4.3 million sqm of office space.
Tertiary-sector activities are a vitally important area for the economic development of Lyon, and currently account for 80,000 jobs – two thirds of the city’s working population. Most of these are located at Part-Dieu, the Cité internationale, Gerland, Vaise, the Pôle Économique Ouest (Western Lyon Economic Cluster) and Porte des Alpes.
Alongside Part-Dieu, Lyon’s business district par excellence, considerable growth has taken place in important complementary tertiary clusters such as Gerland, Techlid (Western Economic Cluster) and Porte des Alpes.
This “multi-polar” approach, combined with the construction of high-quality property developments, makes the Lyon metropolitan area a clear European leader in the tertiary sector.
